Wild West Annual Summer Party

30 June 2019

We believe in any excuse for our residents to enjoy themselves, so we celebrate themed events throughout the year. Our Annual Garden Party is the highlight!

MORE than 160 people attended the Wild West annual summer party at The Grange Retirement Home.

We held the celebration in our beautiful Garden in glorious sunshine.

Thank You Everybody who joined us yesterday (Saturday 29th June).

Guests were welcomed into the Wild West Party by a beautiful Cowgirl on stilts. Visitors and staff got into the Wild West theme, going above and beyond with their outfits. The garden was filled with cowboys and girls, native Indians and the manager rode in on her inflatable horse to the delight of the residents.

An extravagant spread of food was crafted by Chef and his amazing Team including the Granges very own Woody on the BBQ. Residents, Families and Friends enjoyed the wide selection of food from, Burgers, chops and crispy fresh salads.
"Amazing food and the selection was vast, the chocolate brownies where heaven." – Family of Resident

Residents favourite Terry Gleed performed a lively fun showcase, he never fails to get the party started.
'it is an absolute joy coming to the Grange...you all do your jobs brilliantly and you make the residents so happy...I see the contentment in their eyes'- Terry Gleed

The Garden Tepee was the place to be if you got thirsty, Our team of bar men and women ran a great bar again this year, serving beer, wine, Pimm's as well as an array of soft drinks, resident, adults, children and staff all enjoyed the ice cold treat on such a warm sunny day.

A fun selection of garden games including Horseshoe toss, a Coconut Shy and Tin Can Alley where favourites of many of the children as they took it in turns and worked in teams to help each other out. Everywhere you looked there was something to do or something fun to see.

The residents had worked so hard creating beautiful decorations from a wearable feather headdress to sheriff badges and a totem pole. Hay Bales where dotted around the garden and really transported you to the wild west.

Our annual raffle that runs alongside this event raises money for 'Woking & Sam Beare Hospice'. Our suppliers, contactors, families and the local community where extremely generous this year and we were donated over 40 prizes. We thank them very much for their generosity and we will be revealing the total money raised very soon.
